Small wedding is perfect wedding too

Wedding trends are constantly evolving. The high costs, the desire to experience intimate moments, the demand for more personalized experiences, and a more responsible way of thinking have also transformed the world of weddings. Whatever the reason, small weddings are just as perfect as their larger counterparts and will remain an eternal memory for you.

What are the advantages of micro or small weddings

Micro weddings typically have 15-20 guests, while small weddings generally refer to events with a maximum of 50 guests.

One of the biggest advantages of small weddings is their intimacy. A small, close-knit wedding allows you to spend quality time with every guest, avoiding the superficiality that often comes with large events.

With a smaller guest list, you can be more flexible in choosing the venue and program. Because there are fewer guests, you can more confidently dream of unique locations and decorations that reflect your personality and align with current trends.

As a wedding planner, I often advise my couples that if they are considering a smaller wedding, they will feel less pressure, allowing them to embrace their dreams more boldly, making the event even more intimate and personal.

If you don’t want to be the center of attention, there are numerous ways to celebrate that still focus on you but in a more subtle way, while emphasizing the joy of spending time together.

What truly matters is that the wedding is about you. Happiness is not defined by the length of the guest list or the grandeur of the venue but by the fact that you will say your forever vows to each other that day. A small wedding can be just as perfect—perhaps even more so—because it truly revolves around you. A small wedding can be perfect - perhaps because it's more about you.

How much time does it take to organize a micro or small wedding?

In reality, a small wedding can be planned in just a few months. We have even organized a 220-person international wedding in four months. If the venue is available, the planning process can be carried out swiftly.

Thanks to my network, I can certainly find the right wedding professionals who are still available on your big day and would be happy to take part in your wedding.

How much does a micro or small wedding cost?

The cost of a small wedding depends on your needs and preferences. However, because of the smaller guest count, prices tend to be more flexible, meaning you can achieve a beautiful wedding with a more moderate budget.

Certain vendors—such as photographers, videographers, DJs, and wedding planner—charge for the entire day, regardless of the number of guests.

For small weddings in 2025 (up to 50 guests), here are estimated costs: Specified for a wedding of 50 people:

Why hire a wedding planner for a small wedding?

Many couples think they can save money by skipping a wedding planner, believing that planning a small wedding is easy. However, with years of experience behind me and seeing brides who ultimately regretted not hiring a planner, I always recommend carefully weighing the pros and cons.

A planner can often secure better prices from vendors or access exclusive services. Having local knowledge and industry connections is invaluable.

Additionally, we ensure that you stay within budget and help you determine where compromises may be necessary.

And of course, one of the biggest advantages is that we manage everything on your wedding day, so you can truly focus on each other and your guests—without stress.

Trendy, intimate ceremonies

Minimony

A minimony is a wedding ceremony where, apart from the couple, only close family and friends are present, usually for ceremonies of up to 15-20 people.

Some couples choose a minimony because they want an intimate, meaningful wedding in a special location without inviting everyone.

Others opt for a minimony before hosting a larger wedding celebration later.

The key characteristic of a minimony is the small number of attendees.

Elopement Weddings with a Wedding Planner

It can be a great option for more romantic couples who want to get married in private with a celebrant. In this case, the couple will elope to a remote location, in the countryside but mostly abroad, and take their vows in a personalised ceremony.

Even for an elopement wedding, certain essential elements require the expertise of a wedding planner, such as:
Venue selection, photographer & videographer, wedding celebrant, bridal bouquet & minimal decorations, rings & champagne toast, a romantic dinner afterward

If any of these small wedding formats—whether in Hungary or abroad—interest you, I’d be happy to schedule a free initial consultation with you.

For destination weddings, we offer planning services in the following countries: Europe, Bali, Thailand, Cambodia.
